Some conservation techniques are being carried out under the supervision of the Archivists-in-charge. These include processes such as deacidification, encapsulation and re-housing of material in acid-free storage, along with other preventive conservation methods. This service is provided at the discretion of the Archivists-in-charge. A fee structure will soon be enforced for provision of these services.
The archivists have already started to offer advice and assistance with Records and Archives Management to various departments and units of the Campus. Site visits, needs assessments surveys and appraisal of records are conducted and a final report is produced with recommendations for proper record-keeping.
The staff of the Archives are fully trained to physically transfer records in accordance with accepted archival practices in order to prevent further damage or destruction of materials.
The archivists will seek to promote the Archives and educate users about its holdings by hosting exhibitions, open days and workshops from time to time.
